If you haven’t already registered for this year’s BTWW, visit, click on the orange ‘Register Team’ button on the top right and enter your info. Each team that registers online will be ENTERED TO WIN a Kona Dew commuter bike, courtesy of Simon’s Cycles! The draw will take place mid-June when one lucky winner can continue their commute to work with a brand new ride!

Here’s how the draw works: we put all of the team names into a draw – the winning team will be contacted and we will set up a time to have a secondary draw at that workplace as part of a ‘coffee break’ party – we bring the bike and some goodies and conduct the draw onsite with a photo opp for the paper.

Note: you can be a team of ‘one’ or buddy up and create a team with your co-workers/friends/family members and share in the fun together! And you don’t have to necessarily bike to work – we recognize that not everyone works in an office so if you replace a car trip with an outing by bike, it counts!! Or you can bus and bike – did you know our local transit buses have bike racks so you can make your commute a bit easier if you need to!

Also on the webpage, click on the “Resources” tab and you will find registration how-to’s, bike commuting tips AND a team participation form where you and your co-workers can track your cycling activity for the week.

Visit for a more detailed schedule of Celebration Stations which will be set up throughout the Valley each morning – be sure to drop by to meet other bike commuters and enjoy a healthy snack. Bike to the Playground, Bike to School and a free wrap-up BBQ at the Broken Spoke are other fun events happening during the week.

Get ready to gear up and enjoy some fun, fitness and camaraderie – if you need further info, email or call (250) 890-9116.

Have fun and happy biking!
