I have been fortunate enough to explore this great country from coast to coast, and as wonderful as this country is, there is no place greater than Vancouver Island, and in particular the Comox Valley. Hidden treasures, secret places, and a temparate climate. Where else can you ski in the morning and kayak in the afternoon? As an avid outdoor enthusiast, I have numerous places to enjoy around the Comox Valley, but my favorite is a place seen by very few. A Place were you can hike through deep lush forests, with clean flowing creeks, rivers, and cool mountain lakes. A place where small woodland birds, gentle breezes, and the calls of distant raven are the only sounds you hear, confirming that you are in a special place. A place where you can hike for hours and never come upon another soul in this undisturbed wilderness. I would like to keep this jewel of the valley a secret to protect it's unspoiled beauty, unfortunately it is under attack by a large corporation. My hint to this location ... Please say "NO to Coal Mines"
